Nonoy Aquino running for 2010 Presidency

“Tinatanggap ko ang hiling ng sambayanan. Tinatanggap ko rin po ang bilin at habilin, tagubilin ng aking mga magulang. Tinatanggap ko ang responsibilidad na ituloy ang laban para sa bayan. Tinatanggap ko ang hamong mamuno sa labang ito. Bayang Pilipinas, tatakbo ako sa pagkapangulo sa darating na halalan,” said Noynoy, who made the announcement on the 40th day after the death of his mother, former President Corazon C. Aquino.

He made the announcement that he will run for president in 2010 as standard bearer of the Liberal Party (LP) at the historic Club Filipino in Greenhills in San Juan City, early on Wednesday, where his famous mother took her oath as president on Feb. 25, 1986 during the final day of the EDSA People Power Revolution.


Aquino said he wants to be a president “that will be missed when I step down.” Noynoy is the only son of Mrs. Aquino and opposition leader Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. Millions of people lined the streets of Manila during the funerals of both his parents, Mrs. Aquino last month and Ninoy in 1983, when he was gunned down upon return from US exile.

Promptly, the camp of former President Joseph Estrada welcomed Noynoy’s announcement, even as the deposed leader had floated the idea of seeking the presidency again if the opposition fails to unite behind a single candidate in 2010.

“We welcome Sen. Noynoy’s decision and wish him the best in his bid for the presidency. We urge him to work and campaign doubly hard, now that he has declared his intent to run,” said Margaux Salcedo, Estrada’s spokesperson, in a text message to GMANews.TV.

Salcedo said that while Noynoy carries the legacy and memory of his parents, “he must also prove that beyond this, he is his own man worth voting for president.”

Even Malacañang welcomed Noynoy’s declaration.

In an interview on dzBB radio, presidential political adviser Gabriel Claudio congratulated Noynoy, now that he has thrown his hat in the 2010 presidential ring.

“Si Sen. Noynoy Aquino ay ating kaibigan at lubusang binabati at kinocongratulate ang kaniyang pagpapahayag (Sen. Noynoy Aquino is our friend and we greet and congratulate him after he has made the announcement),” Claudio said.

Claudio added that he does not doubt that Noynoy has good intentions in seeking the presidency next year.

Asked whether Noynoy’s decision would affect the administration coalition Lakas-Kampi (Kabalikat ng Mamamayang Pilipino)-CMD, Claudio said that he does not want to meddle into the affairs of the Liberal Party.

“Sa administrasyon, imbis na panghimasukan ang affairs ng ibang partido, ay pinatatag na lang ang…proseso ng (pagpili) sa kandidato mula nasyonal hanggang local,” Claudio said.

(The administration would rather strengthen its process in picking national and local candidates than meddle into the affairs of another party.)

Senator Loren Legarda, a possible presidential bet of the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC), said the development would affect the LP alone and not her party.

“Ang kaniyang (Noynoy) pag-anunsyo ay partido Liberal at iba naman po yung NPC (Noynoy’s announcement is for the Liberal Party. The NPC is different),” Legarda said in a separate interview on dzBB radio.

Incidentally, the NPC is a party formed by Noynoy’s uncle, business tycoon Eduardo “Danding” Cojuangco, when he sought the presidency in 1992.

Web Bot Prediction

Many predicted that the end of the World will be in 2012. But would you believe that a computer program also predicted the doomsday on the same date?

Since its conception in the late 1990’s, the Web Bot Project has made a number of very accurate and insightful predictions regarding coming events. Throughout its short existence, the Web Bot has accurately predicted many other natural and man made disasters such as the 2001 anthrax attack on Washington DC, the East Coast power outage in 2003 and the earthquake which lead to the December 26 2004 tsunami. It is even credited with predicting hurricane Katrina and the devastating events that followed. In addition, the Web Bot has foretold of a global devastating event expected to take place in late December 2012.

Even more remarkable is a series of predictions made back in late 2006 about the coming events of late 2008 through mid 2009. Although these predictions may or may not pan out to be completely accurate, it is interesting to evaluate each one based on its own merit and relationship to the times in which we live. The following is a breakdown of these predictions.

- September 22-27 2008 are seen as precursor dates to a significant event expected to take place on October 7 2008.
Closely watch events during September 22 through 27 2008 for hints as to what to expect on October 7 2008. Although the predictions are not specific, the event is expected to be as significant as the events of 9/11.

- October 7 2008 to February 19 2008 will be filled with emotional intensity
The Web Bot has never picked up any event lasting this long. In comparison, the events of 9/11 lasted about 10 days. This event will be four months of high emotion.

- In October Global emotional release event begins – largely economic.
The rest of the world will begin to seriously question the stability and reliability of the U.S. dollar.

- Catastrophic collapse of the dollar is possible – as the language is active around that concept.
The Web Bot foresee consumer society confidence collapsing by mid November 2008. This could be a direct result of the recent government bailout and failure of several large financial institutions in the U.S. along with the devalued U.S. dollar and the increased cost of living.

- Global economic collapse possible in Fall 2008 cascading off the U.S. woes.
Think of the U.S. economy as a lit fuse that was lit over the early part of 2008. The rest of the world has no choice but to react to the declining U.S. dollar and the enormous amount of debt that the U.S. has accumulated and put upon itself.

- May be a global replay of what the 1932 bond crash in the Great Depression was.

- Tensions build in cities, encounters scarcity.
As the cost of food, fuel and other necessities of life continue to rise so does peoples level of stress. As the holidays approach, individuals find themselves taking extreme actions that they would have never considered in the past.

- The populace of the US impacted by a condition like posttraumatic stress. It will be something like “time shocked” or “time stunned”.
Just as you wrap you head around one big change or traumatic event, another will come along which will be bigger and harder to absorb.

- Mood of the population improves: People have a renewed sense of optimism that the corporate/elite can and will be replaced in the elections but the ‘us against them’ grows.
This appears to be directly related to the upcoming presidential elections. People will briefly experience a renewed optimism and confidence in the promises made by the new president, but the mood will quickly change when they realize that it is business as usual in Washington.

- Possibly early elections, or at least calls for that because of anger.
This seems to relate to Israel and the possibility of early presidential elections necessary to curtail the increased threats from Iran.

- In late 2008 the rest of the world’s currencies are ‘touched off’ by the dollar and U.S. decline.
The continuing instability of the U.S. economy and financial systems will prove to be a catalyst for global unrest and uncertainty.

- The Web Bot foresee a West Coast/Vancouver area large-scale earthquake around December 12, 2008.
Many have seen signs of this coming for quite some time. This may not be the “Big One”, but it will prove to be significant and very devastating to the area.

- There will be a 2009 winter/spring natural disaster, which caused people to become angry about government response.
With the dramatic increase in natural disasters such as earthquakes, hurricanes, floods and more, the government’s inability to respond to the immediate needs of the people will prove to be devastating for many.

- The Web Bot foresee that the winter in the Northeast will be very cold, causing some schools to close, and then later to reopen as shelters for people who can't heat their homes.
Language suggests that the shortages will be caused by a lack of supplies, cost of fuel, or both.

- Global Coastal Event likely in early to mid 2009
The Web Bot sees a permanent loss of low-lying territory globally and foresees that one continent in particular will get hit badly, but it does not say which one. Places to avoid: anything at sea level (Bangladesh/Florida/ etc).

It would appear that many of theses Web Bot predictions seem to focus on the economy both in the U.S. and around the world, and the underlying threat of these predictions is being felt right now. With the recent multi-billion dollar government bailout of many financial institutions, the U.S. has entered into an economic disaster that is sure to destabilize the financial future and wellbeing of many.

Prepare yourself for what is coming. The Web Bot tells us that for the remainder of 2008, bad will only get worse.

What’s within Within Temptation?

I learned about this band like three years ago and I really love this band. I like their songs. Their songs seem to go deep within me. I used to sing classical so I really can relate with the song because I can’t do the “birit” like Regine Velasquez or Celine Dion but I can hit the pitch of Within Temptation by singing falsetto.
Anyways, Within Temptation is a Dutch metal band. The band was founded in 1996 by vocalist Sharon den Adel and guitarist Robert Westerholt. Their music is described as symphonic metal, gothic metal and gothic rock, although in an interview, Den Adel said they fell into a symphonic rock genre with various influences,and in a later interview with 3VOOR12, Sharon stated that "we consider ourselves more a symphonic rock/metal band ... we are in my opinion no gothic band".
Directly after the release of their first album Enter, the band became prominent in the underground scene. However it wasn't until 2001 that they became known to the general public, with the single "Ice Queen" from the album Mother Earth, which reached #2 on the charts. Since then, the band won the Conamus Exportprijs five years in a row. Their next album The Silent Force debuted at #1 on the Dutch charts, as did their latest, The Heart of Everything.
Long-term partners Robert Westerholt (on guitar) and Sharon den Adel (Vocals) began the band in 1996, quickly adding Jeroen van Veen on bass guitar, Michiel Papenhove on guitar, Martijn Westerholt at the keyboard and (following a succession of short-lived drummers) Ivar de Graaf. They were quickly offered a recording contract and signed to DSFA Records later that year, beginning work on their first release.
The Heart of Everything (2007-2009)

The new album The Heart of Everything from Within Temptation was released on March 9, 2007, in the Netherlands, and in the United States on July 24. Two tracks, called "The Howling" and "Sounds of Freedom", were recorded as promotion material for the video game The Chronicles of Spellborn, and the first of these opens the album. The full track listing was revealed on January 10.[18] The band embarked on their first North American tour with Lacuna Coil in May to promote the North American release of the album. Roadrunner Records also released a limited edition EP called The Howling, which was available only at Hot Topic stores, containing the title track plus popular tracks from their former album The Silent Force.
The album debuted at #1 in the Dutch Album 100, making it their second number-one album.It reached top 10 in eight countries and top 100 in eleven countries. As of March 30, 2007, the album has sold 150,000 copies.
The song "What Have You Done" was the first single released from the album. Its initial music video was recorded on the 12, 13 and 14 of December 2006 at the Koko club in London, and a CGI studio in Windsor. It features Keith Caputo of Life of Agony fame on guest vocals. Fans were allowed to participate in the making of the video, although this first version left the band feeling disappointed (comments made by the band at their March show in Lyon). Shortly after, a completely new video for the song was made. The song peaked at #7 in the Netherlands and #4 in Finland.
The second single, released across Europe in June, was "Frozen". The video, filmed in Romania, deals with child abuse, and sales of the single was to raise money for a children's charity, Child Helpline International. "The Howling" was chosen as a digital single release for the UK (not to be confused with the US EP release), and another video was also shot. The extended version of the "Frozen" single features an unreleased b-side, "Sounds of Freedom", as mentioned the second song written for the promotion of the computer game The Chronicles of Spellborn.
Within Temptation started their very first U.S. tour a few months after the European release of The Heart of Everything, supporting Lacuna Coil, and appearing alongside In This Moment, Stolen Babies, The Gathering, and Kylesa. The tour, dubbed The Hottest Chicks in Metal Tour 2007, was largely a success.
The Heart of Everything was released in the U.S. on July 24, and the promotional single of "What Have You Done" shipped to rock stations July 2. This was the band's first album to be released in America followed by the previous albums Mother Earth and The Silent Force a year later.
In support of the new album, Within Temptation decided to kick off their first headlining US tour in Fall 2007. The band played 13 shows, starting on September 5, 2007, in Boston and ended on September 23, 2007, in Tempe, Arizona.
On October 19, 2007, Within Temptation released the video for their third single "All I Need". The single was released in Europe around November 12 and features the single and album versions of the title track plus demo versions of "The Last Time" (previously unreleased track), "Frozen" and "Our Solemn Hour".[19]
In November 2007, the band released info that their concert at Beursgebouw, in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, was filmed for possible inclusion on a new concert dvd (either parts or all of the show). On February 7, 2008, the band performed a 10,000 audience show entitled Black Symphony at the Ahoy in Nederlands together with The Metropole Orchestra, a choir and several guest artists, and it was later revealed that this show would be filmed in its entirety for DVD and Blu-Ray together with a double cd, which was to be released on September 22, 2008, (international) and September 23, 2008 (in the U.S.). The trailer for the DVD (containing the entire live performance of the song "Our Solemn Hour" from the show) was released on the band's Opendisc feature on July 16, 2008. Another single from The Heart of Everything, Forgiven, was released to promote the Black Symphony release.
On November 3rd, 2008, Ruud Jolie stated on his blog, that the members of Within Temptation were going to take a year off.
"After the Theatertour, that will start next week, me and the rest of Within Temptation are gonna take a whole year off. For the last 7 years we've been hopping from studio to tourbus to airplane to boat to studio again to tourbus to bicycle to airplane to an occasional swimmingpool on the top of a hotel to tourbus again. We all really needed a break from the band..."

In the fourth quarter of 2007, the band announced that they would begin writing new material for another studio album. The expected release date was said to be 2009/2010. On 22nd February 2009, it was announced on the Within Temptation website that Sharon & Robert are expecting their second child in the summer, with Sharon also saying "Meanwhile, writing new songs is going very well, everything's looking good!"
In an interview with Holland's Face Culture, vocalist Sharon den Adel not only spoke out about the band's thoughts on their studio albums, but at the conclusion, stated that the album was slated for a release in early 2010.[20] In an interview with Metal Ways at Appelpop, guitarist Robert Westerholt stated that the new album was "probably going to be kind of a concept, but it’s so early still that nothing is really sure yet. But we’re trying to look in that direction."In November 2008, the band posted that 2009 would be the year that they begin work on a new album, encouraging fans to check into the website for further updates as time goes by, and that they were playing only a few more shows for The Heart of Everything.

Bother. I was hoping to pick up one of his old noses. No, I mean it. A source in the plastic surgery business tells me it is well known that one of Wacko Jacko's noses collapsed.
It sort of went inwards and upwards, until it was hovering somewhere between his eyebrows. The word is that a German doctor used cartilage and stuff from his ears to build up the nose he has today.
Having an ear that looks like a nose in the middle of your face must be great for party tricks. He can put his fingers in his ears and pretend he can't hear you, but can sneakily listen in with his nose. How cool is that?
Jackson must be the only human being who has changed his face more than this toy my kid has called Mr Potato Head.
Anyway, I wanted to buy one of his old noses as a symbol of human folly. Jacko, a guy who earns US$1 million (HK$7.8 million) for each show, is running out of cash. How come?
Well, he's a pop star. These guys, like film stars, the children of tycoons, and the wives of columnists, are famed for their ability to spend vast fortunes at high speed.
Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage revealed a few days ago that he has had to sell his castle in Bavaria, Germany. "However, he still has one castle left, in the UK," his spokesman said. The news brought tears to my eyes. How can a man live with only one castle? Life is hard.
Who else is reportedly low on cash? Actress Lindsay Lohan, who earns about US$6 million a year, has apparently managed to drink the lot. This is actually a pretty impressive achievement for a 22-year-old. I'm furious with my careers consultant for failing to advise me years ago to move to California and set up a mobile alcohol stall outside Lohan's house.
But if I had to give a "financial idiot award" to someone, I would give it to Elton John, who blew US$50 million in two years, including US$500,000 on flowers. When a judge asked him whether it was really possible to spend so much money at a florist, Elton replied: "Yes. I like flowers."
But maybe the top financial idiot award should be reserved for rap star MC Hammer. By the early 90s, he had earned US$49 million, Forbes estimates. In the mid-90s, it was all gone. Accountants tried to locate it. They discovered he had bought 17 luxury cars, two helicopters, a stable of racehorses and a bowling alley. His 4.85-hectare estate had a stereo so large that it needed 35 kilometers of wiring, and its walls had US$75,000 worth of mirrors. How can anyone buy so much stuff without noticing?

Rhian Ramos pinabilib ang Bad Boy ng Philippine Showbiz

May bago na namang pelikula ang GMA films "Sundo" isang suspense thriller, kung saan first time na nakasama at nakatrabaho ni Rhian Ramos ang action star at legend na si Robin Padilla o. Portraying Robin’s blind sister in the movie, Rhian caught Robin Padilla’s attention while they were filming the movie.
Sa Press launch ng GMA7 films "Sundo", nakapagbitaw si na bumilib siya sa young actress na si Rhian Ramos.

"Napakagalang po ng batang ito. Noong una kaming nagkita sa loob ng sasakyan ang eksena namin, sabi niya 'Isa pong karangalan ang makatrabaho kayo.' Na-touch ako nun iha. Tumanim po 'yun sa puso ko kapatid kasi totoo 'yung sinabi ko kanina na marami na akong nakilala na mga bagong artista na nalungkot ako kasi [nawawala] 'yung respeto [nila] sa nakakatanda," ang pahayag ng lead star ng Sundo.

Idinagdag pa ni Robin na talagang pinahanga siya ng young actress sa pag-acknowledge sa kanya. Idinagdag pa ni Robin na noong sinabi daw ni Rhian yun ay medyo naiiyak siya... hindi lang daw siya nagpahalata. "Sabi ko ang galing naman nitong batang ito. Pinuri rin ni Robin ang pag-arte ni Rhian saying that she is very professional when it comes to portraying her character.

"Bilang artista naman ay napakahusay niya kasi bulag siya rito. Talagang lagi lang siyang nakatingin sa malayo. Suot-suot niya 'yung contact lens. Matagal po niya 'yung suot, buong araw. Ako, bigote lang at hair extension ang nakakabit sa akin, medyo hirap na hirap na ako. Eh siya, nakalagay sa mata niya, tapos hugas ng hugas ng mata niya. Kami na nga ang umaawat sa kanya 'Uy tama na 'yan, masama na yata ang ginagawa mo’ pero sabi niya ‘hindi okay lang ‘yan’ ganun ho siya ka-professional!" ang kwento ni Robin during the press launch.

Nang hiningan ng iGMA ng reaksyon si Rhian sa mga papuri ni Robin sa kanya, halatang tuwang-tuwa ang batang aktres.

"Syempre natutuwa ako na kasi sinabi niya na-touch daw siya sa nagawa ko so parang masayang-masaya ako na parang kahit sa maliit lang na paraan nakagawa ako ng impact," ang nakangiting pahayag ng 18-year-old actress.

Nang tanungin namin kung willing ba siya na makasama ulit si Robin, but this time sa television naman, guess what she said?

"Oo naman! Kasi pagka gumagawa ka ng isang pelikula, mas mabilis siyang gawin kesa sa show. Sobrang nag-enjoy ako sa proyektong ito at parang bitin, so parang gusto ko mas mahabang proyekto naman. Kuya (appealing to Robin), request mo naman ako!"

Babaeng hinugot sa Aking tadyang

GMA Network has the newest action-suspense-drama on television, Carlo J. Caparas's Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang. The first prime time was last february 2, 2009.

Originally created for comics noong 1974 by the 2008 Sagisag Balagtas awardee and comics genius Caparas, Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang ay ginawa ring pelikula in 1981 starring Eddie Rodriguez and Vivian Velez.

GMA-7 updates the story with the deft hands of head writer RJ Nuevas, na siya namang pagagandahin pa lalo ni Bb. Joyce Bernal, ang direktor na nagdala sa tandem nina Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera from MariMar hanggang Dyesebel. This time, she will be joined by the suspense genius Topel Lee.

Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang is about family, destiny, secrets and deception. And sa version na ito ng GMA-7, the series will show that love is indeed the most powerful force on earth.

Another up coming telenovela in GMA 7 is a local adaptation of the 2000 Koreanovela of the same name. A story of two rival journalists, All About Eve will be topbilled by Sunshine Dizon and Iza Calzado. It also stars Eula Valdez, Richard Gomez, and Jean Garcia. It will be aired soon on GMA 7 Telebabad.

Marian Rivera and Richard Gutierrez together again

After my Bestfriend's Girlfriend, Richard and Marian will be together again in their next project "Full House".

GMA bought the rights for the highest-rating koreanovela on Philippine television, Full House. When GMA Network aired the Korean series in 2004, it received a peak rating of 52%. Now the kapuso network has decided to make it’s own Philippine version of the show.
As of this post, the leading man role is still reserved for Richard Gutierrez (who will soon star in the local remake of Zorro). He will play the role of “Justine”, originally portrayed by Asian Heartthrob Rain. The role of Jessie Han, the female lead in Full House, is reserved for Marian Rivera. But of course, it will only be possible if Marian’s schedule will allow her to be the local “Jessie Han.”

Both Marian Rivera and Richard Gutierrez have a new primetime series to be launched soon. Marian is paired again with Dingdong Dantes for the remake of the classic thriller “Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang.” Richard, on the other hand, is starring the the local tv remake of the Mexican legend “Zorro.”

Palawan - Natural Sanctuary of the World

Palawan Coral Reef

Palawan is an elongated island-province southwest of Mindoro, it is a 55 minute flight from Manila. It is rich in natural resources and boasts of exotic wildlife, white sand beaches, world class snorkeling and scuba diving. Sta. Lourdes Tagbanua, Puerto Princesa City is where Honda Bay can be seen. The bay consists of several islets with shallow reefs, bordering fabulous beaches and small resorts which have become the favorite water sports destination of local and foreign tourists alike.

The province boasts of extraordinary scenic wonders. African animals from Kenya in Africa- giraffes and elands, zebras and gazelles- co- exist with endemic Philippine animals, like the Palawan bearcat, mousedeer and peacock (pheasant), in the Calauit Island Wildlife Sanctuary in Busuanga, considered on of the province’s most amazing sites. Another sanctuary found in Rio Tuba Village, Bataraza is the Ursula Island Game Refuge and Bird Sanctuary. This island is a haven for birds that rest and converge two hours before sunset, after a day’s flight.

Fairies could be harmless and harmful

I'm so interested with fairies since I was a child. I love to read and listen to stories about them. Fairies world is so enchanting and mysterious. Location of these elementary beings has varied throughout time and culture. They are said to live in trees, leaves, flowers, in the horizon; other under their own feet; others live in hills, in lakes; other live in the perfum of flowers and all that is natural around us. Summing up, air, water, earth and fire are the four elements where elementary spirits are contained.
The world of fairies are not only the world of beauty and enchantment but are also of a huge ugliness, of insensitive shallowness, humour, malice, joy and inspiration, fear, laughter, love, and tragedy. They are like us humans sometimes harmless and sometimes dangerous. That is why we have to be careful and extreme caution should be taken inorder to penetrate into this world, as nothing is more irritating to fairies than several human beings curiously moving around their extraordinary dominions, like spoiled tourists. Love, but also abandonmentand death follows under their spell.

I read some information about Fairies. Many Fairies are said to eat berries, fruit, nectar and even leafs. Some Fairies can "borrow" food from humans, like cheese, wheat, butter and even meat. They also like to borrow things, sometimes they are called the burrowers. Fairies love to have big parties. They are spontaneous.They love colorful things. Some Fairies are immortal and can live very long. They can still look young.
Sometimes a Fairy can marry a human to get a soul, so they can go to heavenwhen they die. But it happens that a Fairy
steals a baby also to get a soul, and then leaves a little bell.
Fairies shall be treated with big respect. Because if not they could mean harm.They can be called "The kind people"
and "The little people" because most of the time they are really helpful and because of their size. They are also said to be the protector of the earth.

Fashion or anything that we wear or use, we always consider the color. Color is very important.

Purple, Purple, Purple!

Emerging as a hot fashion color last fall, purple is not just a fad -- it's an entrenched trend, strongly influenced by the election. (After all, red plus blue equals purple.) Look for a greyed-out violet that works equally well as an accent or a neutral, as well as redder, plummier purples and bluer-influenced fuchsias in a huge range of products. Purple is 2009's "must have" color.

Blue is the New Green

Various greens have symbolized "green living" over the last few years, but in 2009 the "green" environmental message is delivered by the color blue. There are watery blues, sky blues and a whole range of blues that now represent our commitment to living on a greener planet.

American ghost at Johnson's

I was in my second year in College. My boardmates decided to go ghost hunting in the University we attended. We explore the University, taking pictures everywhere hoping that a ghost will appear in the picture. At first I did not believe that the white images on the pictures were real. We went to Johnson's and we also took pictures there. The picture that was taken at Johnson's made me believe more that ghost are really real. On that picture was a head! Yes a head of a man, an american I guess, smiling. It's so clear. He's smiling. If only that picture that was saved on the computer did not dissappear, it would be an evidence.

Fairies are real

We always ask ourselves or other people if fairies are real. Most of the children believe the fairies are real. Yes, they are real. I really believe they are real although I haven't seen one. It's like believing angels, and God without seeing them. My parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and other people that I have talked to had their own experience about fairies, ghosts, and other paranormal things.
When I was just a little girl, I always asked my grandparents and my mother to tell me stories based on their experience and encounters of witches we call it "aswang", fairies, dwarfs, and other paranormal being. There were a lot of unexplained beings during my grandparents time but they said it slowly vanished because of the civilization and because of the technologies. They said most of them moved in forests far from civilization.
There are different kinds of fairies they said. The most familiar fairy that I heard are what we call "engkanto" have their own world. They can be seen if they want to be seen. They are also capable of loving human beings. They court humans and most of the time use their magic. They also transform into human like us but theres a little difference. They appear to be very attractive, handsome men and gorgeous women. If they bring you to their place you should not eat their food or drink their water for you will never return home. They have rice which is color black. Most of their foods are color black.
There were a lot of true stories about people who were abducted by engkanto. They were physically present, appeared to be sleeping but their soul is in the engkanto's kingdom.
We believe that they are the keeper of the nature. That is why, there were stories that most of the people who attempted to cut down some trees in some areas in our town got sick or even died. Some machines used to cut down trees were damaged.
They are real. I believe.
